About the Claimlane AI Agent

Understand how the Claimlane AI Agent analyzes tickets, recommends next steps, and operates within your organization’s rules and guardrails.

Written by Support team

The Claimlane AI Agent helps teams handle warranty claims, returns, repairs, delivery issues, and other post-purchase cases. It works inside Claimlane, using your rules and available case context to analyze each ticket and recommend what should happen next.

What the AI Agent does

Depending on your account setup, the AI Agent can:

  • Summarize the customer, product, issue, and relevant case history.

  • Analyze descriptions, error codes, images, videos, and other documentation.

  • Check your policies, product-specific rules, supplier requirements, and similar past cases.

  • Identify missing information and suggest what to ask the customer for.

  • Highlight possible risk or fraud signals for review.

  • Create a step-by-step action plan and explain its reasoning.

  • Suggest or perform allowed actions, such as writing a message, arranging shipping, forwarding a case, updating status, or escalating to a person.

The exact capabilities available depend on the actions and automation level enabled for your organization.

How it works

When a ticket is created or updated, the AI Agent evaluates the available information against three main inputs:

  1. Rules — your handling policies for each ticket type, including constraints and escalation conditions.

  2. Knowledge and context — relevant customer, product, supplier, order, and historical case information available in Claimlane.

  3. Allowed actions — the actions your organization has activated and permitted the AI Agent to use.

It then produces a recommended plan. Your team can review the reasoning, approve or reject the plan, and provide feedback. Organizations can begin with human review and gradually automate selected cases when the results are accurate and the right guardrails are in place.

Staying in control

Your organization decides:

  • Which ticket types the AI Agent supports.

  • Which rules apply to specific products, suppliers, customers, prices, or situations.

  • Which actions the AI Agent may use.

  • Which situations require human review or escalation.

  • Whether the AI Agent only recommends a plan or may complete selected actions automatically.

The AI Agent does not operate outside the rules and actions configured for your organization. If a case is uncertain, sensitive, or outside its allowed scope, configure a handoff so a person can review it.

Example

A customer submits a warranty claim for a product that will not charge. The AI Agent can review the order and warranty status, compare the issue with similar cases, inspect the submitted documentation, and check the relevant product and supplier rules. It may then recommend requesting one missing photo, sending a replacement, or escalating the case for manual review.

What the AI Agent is not

The AI Agent is not a fixed script or a generic FAQ chatbot. Rules provide a decision-making framework, while case context helps it adapt its recommendation to the situation.

It also requires setup and ongoing ownership. A person in your organization should maintain the rules, review feedback, and decide when additional automation is appropriate.

Availability

AI Agent access, actions, and automation options depend on your Claimlane plan and account configuration. Contact your Claimlane representative or [email protected] if you do not see the AI Agent settings or want to expand its scope.
